Drowned
People can't drive. This seems to be aggravated by any kind of weather at all, perhaps they don't bother to slow down and be a little careful, I dunno. But with high winds and very heavy rain on the way home today I saw at least three wrecks, one of which was a car about 10 feet off the road right in the middle of a ditch. Boy it was raining super hard. Thats about the most exciting news in the world of paul, cept all the anime holland I and I watched this weekend. Witch Hunter Robin and Noir are both pretty good, Excel Saga is entertaining but exceptionally weird, weirder than hoping vampires, weirder than Jake :-p

Kittens
Paul is one tired puppy. We've been doing some experimental pours at work using a 100lb furnace. Varying the chemistry of our high strength alloy to see if it can't be improved. So yeah, with the small furnace everything has to be done by hand except emptying the furnace into the ladle, which is done with a small crane (The furnace is a wee bit too heavy/hot/electrified to be moving by hand). The ladle is about 150lbs so with the metal its a fair load, and we've gotta wear a bunch of protective gear so the ~3000 degree (farenheit) metal doesn't give us sunburn. What it all adds up to is a very tired paul. I have to say though, its also a great deal of fun, I've never gotten to play with so much liquid metal, and its pretty satisfying because you feel like you've accomplished something, even if it is only a test bar. Hmm... so there. The protective equipment is pretty cool btw, aluminumized gloves and apron, flame retardant jacket, leather guards for your lower legs and a full face shield, that and a red hot piece of rebar (used to stir/poke/mix/slag the metal) makes one feel fairly knightly :-p

Mew
A little update before I hit the road.
Life has been interesting I suppose, work is about the same, still very interesting, and a little stressful/difficult at times but thats basically any job. My apartment is slowy taking shape, but I've started thinking about looking for a house or something simular. There are a lot of things you can't do in apartment, like building things and using power tools and playing with metal. Thats kind of a big step though so I'm going to have to do a good bit of thinking before I decide anything, I really don't like the idea of more debt. If I win the lotto I'll get right on building my own house :-p as pleasant a little hobbit hole as anyone could wish. Perhaps in a pine thicket, with a lamp post marking the house.
Last weekend was really fun, went to the shakespeare tavern with some crackheads, it was amazing. Much addo about nothing was playing and it was so ver funny, and I can't say the company hurt.
Augusta has turned out to be a pretty interesting city, I'm still exploring it bit by bit, but the downtown area has a lot of cool shops, and there are plenty of recreational type things to do. Still no luck finding people to hang out with though, thats kinda sad.
Anyway, thats about it for me, and its past time I started driving.

Mrs. Brown
Mrs. Brown you've got a lovely daughter
Girls as sharp as her are something rare
But it's sad, she doesn't love me now
She's made it clear enough it ain't no good to pine
She wants to return those things I bought her
Tell her she can keep them just the same
Things have changed, she doesn't love me now
She's made it clear enough it ain't no good to pine
Walking about, even in a crowd, well
You'll pick her out, makes a bloke feel so proud
If she finds that I've been round to see you (round to see you)
Tell her that I'm well and feeling fine (feeling fine)
Don't let on, don't say she's broke my heart
I'd go down on my knees but it's no good to pine
Walkin' about, even in a crowd, well
You'll pick her out, makes a bloke feel so proud

Sweet Molly Malone
1. In Dublin's fair city,
Where girls are so pretty,
I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone,
As she pushed her wheelbarrow
Through streets broad and narrow,
Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive oh"!
Chorus:
Alive, alive oh! alive, alive oh!
Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive oh"!
2. Now she was a fishmonger,
And sure twas no wonder,
For so were her mother and father before,
And they each wheeled their barrow,
Through streets broad and narrow,
Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive oh"!
Chorus:
*3. Now I was a rover,
And sailed the sea over,
So I bid my farewell to sweet Molly Malone,
And as I was sailing,
The wild wind was crying,
Crying "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive oh!"
Chorus:
4. She died of a fever,
And no one could save her,
And that was the end of sweet Molly Malone.
Now her ghost wheels her barrow,
Through streets broad and narrow,
Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive oh"!
*The versions I could find online only have three verses, but the version I have has 4, so I added it from memory and might not be exactly correct.
